Dream!

Last night we went to the arena show and then to the Dream Module. The arena show was pretty much a giant dance party with 50,000 people (Participants and Camp-in-Camp hosts). Some famous Swedish popstars like Timbuktu and Hoffmeister came and everyone just danced the night away, or at least until 9:30, when the show ended. Of course we didn't understand the words, but the beat was amazing and we shared our favorite dance moves with the countries surrounding us.

After that we were able to roam around the camp until around 11:30, when we had to come back and prepare for Dream. We made a giant sleeping pile with everyone; we all brought out our air mattresses and sleeping bags to try to keep each other awake because the module actually started at 12:30. In Dream we went through the stages of life but backwards, all the way from death to childhood. In Old Age we created a person, then traveled back in time from age 60 to 20 to see the decisions that person would have had to make to reach the intended goal. We learned about world leaders, but the most important lesson was learning about the need to fulfill your own dreams, no matter how grand or humble they were.

Today is our free day. After a breakfast of pancakes, or crepes, depending on our time and skill, we'll be free to wander around and trade to our hearts' desires. People will be working on the Friendship Award and exchanging contact information for after the jamboree.

We're sad to go, but excited to be home again and see all our loved ones!

Cultural Festival Day

Cultural Festival Day has been AMAZING! It's like Epcot in Disney World but bigger and better! We've made lots of crafts and eaten food from all over the world. Our crew is serving jambalaya, coffee, and nectarine cobbler! Each patrol is taking a shift, and when we're not on we get to walk around and try all the different foods from around the world. A group from Germany is serving sauerkraut and schnitzel, while Japan has miso soup and onigiri. A lot of different groups are having performances and dancing in the middle of the subcamps. At one of the finnish sites we played a real life game of Angry Birds! Today, all the Camp-in-Camps that we stayed in are visiting the Jamboree and staying for the Arena show tonight. After the arena show we willl be going to to the Dream Module from 12-3 AM, where we will go through life's stages backwards. Tomorrow is our last free day before we have to start putting down the campsite so we will surely treasure all the moments we have.

LOVE YOU!!!! SEE YOU IN A FEW DAYS!

Camp in Camp!

Hello!

It's Wednesday and we just came back from camp in camp! We had a really good time! We spent time in our separate patrols, along with other patrols from different countries and local swedish scouts of all ages. I think we each got a little bit of time in the water, either in a lake or on a beach, orienteered, made new friends and continued to trade. We learned different Swedish pasttimes, how the Swedish celebrate their holidays and sampled traditional dishes.

The other night we got our dutch oven and ate a delicious nectarine cobbler. Oh yeah, we got new backpacks, THEY'RE AWESOME! They're a lot better than our old backpacks and they look more professional and more American.

Tomorrow we will be having Cultural Day, where we will make jambalaya and try foods from different countries!

The weather is still looking as lovely as ever and we've trying to keep cool with a lot of water and ice cream!

Miss you guys! Love you!

Monday!

Last night, we had a campfire with the Brits, Norwegians, and Finnish. We made caramelized fruit and, got to eat swedish chocolate balls, and chocolate strawberry jam cake. At the campfire we played games and socialized.

Today we went to the global development village,  and learned how to be peace messengers, and deal with human rights issues. The sun has been out a lot lately and its getting really hot, but we've been eating ice cream and drinking lots of water.

Tonight we're going prepare for camp in camp, that we will go to tomorrow. We're really excited! When we get back we're going to go to the beach!

Miss you! Love you!
